Watering Suggestions
In order to maintain beautiful and healthy grass it is critical that the right amount of water be used and at the right times of the day. Watering times should be strictly observed to ensure waste of water and/or damage to your grass is minimized. Watering should only be administered during the early morning/evening hours, watering outside these times will result in damage to the grass due to the excessive heat conditions which could cause the grass to be boiled/scalded by the water. Watering should only be administered in 1hr intervals in order to maintain healthy grass; watering in excess of 1hr is wasted water and does not provide ideal conditions for the grass. Sprinklers found operating outside the watering time and/or in excess of time allowed will be turned off to prevent waste of water and damage to your grass.

Priority Placement Policy for Newly Constructed Housing
The Villages of Benning are pleased to announce occupancy in our new housing areas. We currently have residents in McGraw Village, Phase 1 and 2 and Patton Village, Phase 1. We continue to rebuild the communities here at Fort Benning. The excitement of the new communities is fast moving through our military community.
As new units are completed in accordance with the construction schedule, residents of existing housing may be transferred into newly constructed housing units. As existing residents are transferred, the transferring resident will be subject to the same move-in and inspection procedures applied to any new resident. Additionally, the transferring resident will be required to execute a new Resident Occupancy Agreement, all applicable attachments and participate in a move-in inspection relative to the newly constructed unit into which the family is moving.
As the new homes are made available, there will be an order of priority for the new homes. The order is a guideline to be used by management; however, depending on construction schedules and resident departure times there might be variations from the order if it is for the overall financial well being of the project. The term "In the Path of Demolition" means the next phase of the project as determined by the development plan.
The order of priority is as follows:
- Certain military families who were moved from Phase I & II of McGraw into McBride and were advised by the Government Housing Office that they would be eligible to move into new homes. Their departure date must be more than 12 months out or more at time of new housing availability. The cost of the move will be the resident's responsibility.
- Residents who are "In the Path of Demolition" for the next phase of construction and will be residing a minimum of six months beyond the date of pending demolition will be required to move to accommodate the project. The cost of the move will be absorbed by the project.
- Residents who are "In the Path of Demolition" for the next phase of construction and will not be residing in military family housing six months beyond the date of pending demolition can move in to the new homes at their own expense, or the project will pay to place them in an infill location.
- Any military family who is a new PCS arrival to Fort Benning, do not currently live in Family Housing and their report date is no more than ten (10) days prior to the date of taking occupancy of a new home. The cost of the move will be the resident's responsibility.
- Military families not "In the Path of Demolition" on the five bedroom wait list may
be eligible to occupy the new housing. To qualify for new housing, the five bedroom home must have been vacant for no less than 45 days, and their departure date must be no less than 12 months from move in. This includes families who currently reside on and off post who are already on the wait list.
- Any military family not "In the Path of Demolition" may transfer to the new housing if their departure date is 12 months out or more at time of new housing availability. In order for the resident to be eligible for a transfer, the home must have been vacant and unassigned for a period of no less than sixty (60) continuous days. A lottery system will be used to determine who is selected to transfer to the new housing. Upon notification the selected military family will have ten (10) days to complete the move. The cost of the move will be the resident's responsibility.
- Any military family residing off post (to include military families that cleared housing during a deployment). The cost of the move will be the new resident's responsibility.
At all times the sensitivities of the situation will be recognized. Availability will always dictate the ability to transfer.
